The bottom panel and the sleeve edge are to be done in the same yarn but I was anxious to get going on it and decided to just use some Paton's Classic Wool that I had left from my knitting bag project and get started on it.
I also came up with this groovy idea after I weaved in my ends and it was difficult to tell where my starting point was- so I used a safety pin to put my row counter on and that way I can tell where my starting point is and I don't have to continually have my row counter bulking up my needles. I thought it was pretty clever.

Wow, that is absolutely gorgeous yarn, and the pattern will just show that even more!
I LOVE it when there is such enthusiasm with a project. I just received a ball of #1 on my wishlist yarn... and now I'm chomping at the bit to start a project with it. I'm so excited we found each other through blogland!
Hi, neighbor! (I'm next in the knitting blog ring.)
It looks lovely, and your safety pin idea is clever indeed. :)
WOW. What gorgeous yarn. I love yarn with variations and texture. Hey, congratulations on tackling your first sweater! I don't have the nerve to try one yet. I feel like I'm not ready. But soon... I think I'll try a toddler sweater first. That way, I can always blame a granny if it goes wrong! (Sorry to all you lovely grannies out there!)
